Another highly impactful sport around the globe is Basketball. Even though the NBA pro league is still considered to be the most prestigious competition in the world, there are many international equivalents around the world that can give the NBA professionals a run for their money. The EuroLeague pits the 18 best European nations against each other, and with 10 victories since the reformat in 2000, Spain is one of the most successful teams. Surprisingly enough, the American sport Volleyball is considered to be the world’s 5th most popular sport. Thanks to its outside-version Beach Volley, the sport has always been very popular in Latin America. The popularity is also increasing in Europe, and especially in the Eastern nations. In fact, Russia and Serbia are considered to be two of the worlds most successful teams. It is probably no big surprise that Brazil holds the top spot!

But many there are many other examples that have influenced everything from everyday life to pop-culture around the world. Skateboarding and snowboarding are both made in the US, and the sports have heavily influenced pop-culture and extreme sporting worldwide. Ultimate Frisbee and American Football are two more examples.
