The 2019/20 NBA season is well and truly up and running and given we have had two months to study all 30 teams in the league, solid predictions can now be made about who is likely to be fighting it out for the NBA Championship.
With that assessment in mind, here are three bets you should look to place in the extensive list of NBA markets that are available mid-season.
Los Angeles Clippers To Win NBA Championship
There is a very strong chance the NBA Championship will be heading to Los Angeles this season as the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers look to be the two standout teams in the league this year.
The signing of Kawhi Leonard in the off-season may well be the difference for the Clippers as last season’s MVP has wasted no time settling in in LA.
Leonard recently shone against the Lakers on Christmas Day in his side’s 111-106 victory at the Staples Centre where he picked up 35 points in the game.
The former Toronto man could lead the Clippers to their first-ever NBA Championship in June where they are +325 in the NBA betting on bet365 after a solid start to the regular season.
Ja Morant To Be Named The Rookie of the Year
NBA fans have to wait a little longer this season to see Zion Williamson, who was the number one overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, as he has been injured since the start of the regular season.
In Williamson’s absence, the standout rookie in the opening three months of the campaign has been Ja Morant. The Memphis Grizzlies’ point guard leads the league in points per game by a rookie with 17.85, while he is a long way clear of any other rookie with 6.44 assists per game.
Morant was the second overall pick in the draft, which is proving to be a wise selection by Memphis as the Murray State player has had no problems adapting to the NBA.
Given the start he has made, Morant is now -250 in the Rookie of the Year betting so, if you are looking for a lock, that should be it.
Milwaukee Bucks Can Win Eastern Conference
With a record of 29-5 from their opening 34 games, the Milwaukee Bucks currently lead the Eastern Conference and look to be the team to beat in the East.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the standout player for the Bucks as he is averaging 30.5 points per game. The Eastern Conference leaders are arguably the most balanced team in the NBA this season as they proved when they were without Antetokounmpo in their 111-100 victory over Orlando Magic.
Take the Bucks at +130 to win the Eastern Conference and reach the NBA Championship Finals for the first time since 1974. With the Clippers and Lakers in the West, the Bucks should be able to secure the one seed in the playoffs which will help their chances.
Enjoy all the action from the NBA early in 2020, where results will really start to have added significance to them, as we edge towards the final few months of the regular season.
