Scouting Report: Size, strength, quickness and mobility consistently complimented a development rate which culminated with a starting and leadership role at the tackle position during senior campaign.
Enjoyed a rapid progression and adjustment to collegiate game after gaining eligibility status in the summer of 2008 and responded by contributing a top-tier special teams performance as a sophomore and junior before earning full-time status on the offensive unit.
Ex-Basketball player playing at Center and a shot-putter has great athleticism.
2011: Played in all 12 games as a senior and earned nine starts. Opened season as Grant Harner’s backup at the right tackle slot before earning first collegiate start against North Carolina because of (Harner’s) injury.
Impressive effort against Tar Heels forced coaches to find permanent role, thus was moved to left tackle where he opened the eight remaining contests.
Provided pass protection for quarterback Dominique Davis’ program-record 417 yards against North Carolina(against top DE Quinton Coples and Donte Paige-Moss),which helped facilitate promotion.Also played key role in allowing Davis to set NCAA records for consecutive completions in a game (26/Navy) and season (36/Memphis and Navy), which enabled a single-game school-record 88.9 completion percentage against the Midshipmen.
Cited for standout play at Memphis, a contest in which the Pirates averaged 7.0 yards per play and 12.2 yards per completion on the way to a 524-yard outing.
Rush blocking execution helped ECU tally 12 ground touchdowns in the last seven games.
