John Bowie waived

According to ESPN, defensive back John Bowie has been waived by the Oakland Raiders. He had been slated for the injured reserve for the third consecutive year. He has been a combination of injured and ineffective since being drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 draft. Raiders.com has not confirmed that he has been waived, and has him listed as on injured reserve.

A failed fourth round defensive back would normally raise no eyebrows, but Bowie has the dubious distinction of being the player selected with the draft pick the Raiders acquired from the New England Patriots for the services of professional cancer Randy Moss.
