Breaking Oakland Raider News: LaMont Jordan released from the Raiders
In a move that Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could see coming a mile away, LaMont Jordan has been released according to the NFL Network. After signing his big contract in 2005, Jordan could not finish a season and averaged 3.8 yards a carry each of his three seasons in Oakland. To say that he was disappointing would be an understatement.
This move has been long expected, as the Raiders had drafted Darren McFadden and already had Michael Bush and Justin Fargas. Jordan had told not to report by the Raiders, which only made this move inevitable. There had been rumors of a possible trade as he had visits with other teams, but there weren't any takers as he was not a hot property.
LaMont's first season in Oakland started promising as he rushed for over 1000 yards despite only averaging 3.8 yards per carry. In what would become a common theme over the next three seasons, he missed the last two games due to injury. Last year he started strong in the Raiders new zone blocking scheme, but once he got hurt, Justin Fargas stepped up and the Raiders didn't look back.
Look for Jordan to catch on as depth with a team that is thin at running back as his skill set seems best suited to be a second back. He never developed into the power rusher that he had been expected to become. He has admitted to not studying the playbook and becoming soft after his big payday. He will not be missed in Silver and Black.

I'm wondering if Glenn being cut had anything to do with the timing on this. This should have been done a long time ago and the timing just seems like there was an alterior motive. maybe it's just me??

my shitty ass comp posted that unfinished, anyways ex-raiders recently have bad mouthed us so I hope Jordan isn't a donkey because he'll spill all the beans he can. Apart from that, prior to his injury he was kickin some ass in the ZBS which they also employ

Three words for anyone fearing Jordan as a Bronco:
Chronic. Back. Problems.

Jordan wouldn't help with his play since he's often injured but he has the playbook knows our system so If I was Denver I'd pick him up for that.
Anyway best of luck to him. I never liked the idea of getting him or Moss in the first place!

Hey Guys, lay off me a little. I like to eat a few big macs and sleep during film study, so what! As far as practice goes well you all know I don't need to practice. I just go through the motions so I can get back to my hotel room and be angry with the Jets for sitting me on the bench. Who was I sitting behind anyways? Curtis what ever his name was. Its not like he is some Hall of Famer. Its not like the guy went to the freakin pro bowl every year. Damn, who did they think he was? Bo Jackson or something. I could or ran the ball much better then him. Then to top it all of I get benched for Huggy's kid. What a joke. Can't wait til I get to my new team, I'm going to sulk and bad mouth the Raiders 247. Hey Nick C your right I don't remember the playbook because I had better things to do then read that boring crap. You all will miss me when I'm gone.

Now that he is with the Patriots - do you think he will keep up w McDonalds or be a Big Mac attack?
He is versatile when healthy, but too often I have seen players leave the Raiders and perform better.
I am not saying this is the case, but Al Davis is not the right guy to run this team.
You guys have too much talent to be doing as poorly as you have been the last few years. It has to be a management or locker room issue...
I hope the Raiders can pick up the pace in '08. I hate to see a good team down!
